WaterStation
A group project where we had to create a Level Design for a map UDK following a definite intention.
In opposition to usual maps, we decided to create a vertical gameplay and force all players to have a more concentrated focus point.
We came out with a cylindrical map divided into 5 floors, and a large hole in the middle of the structure, to concentrate confrontations with jumpers to reach each level and force vertical travel. There are few spaces to move on each floor, to force players' movement and triggers on some floors that activate a trap that push players into the hole (the command box on top of the side vents activated by shooting on them). Also we have placed weapons and objects gradually between each floor, and a teleporter between the ground floor and the top floor to allow a quick situation change.
After that I have done most of the building process into Unreal, both creating animations, kismets, placing assets, materials, particle systems and level elements.
If you want to try it, you can download it here! (Please deactivate Adblock to see the captcha).
Other group members: Laurent Puichaud, Yann Sarrat, Pablo Cruz-Lara, Baptiste Dubessay.
