Turnover
It is a group project done at Supinfogame during an intensive week (game creation in crunch situation). The exercise was about creating a new game inspired by Tetris game mechanics.
This game consists of a fast paced puzzle, where the avatar, always going forward, is followed by a hostile object. The only actions the player can execute are placing blocks of two different colors, in front of the avatar to make him change direction to the right or the left. The player has to keep the avatar fleeing from his follower and try to survive as long as possible. It is intended for PC and Tablet devices.
We first started by identifying the different mechanics and the skill required from the players present in Tetris (mental rotation, short term plan, survival, stability search, risk taking, reflexion, rapidity, minimum control, etc.). Then we created a concept around these features and a little prototype on Unity.
If you want to give it a try, here is the prototype! (Extract all the files in a folder, has to be played in windowed mode at 800 x 600).
Other group members: Frederic Bricout, Lucas Devos, Hugo Nguyen-Duc, Marie Ronnaux.
